Plaster of paris is economical art material and develops interest while working.I is versatile medium and used in different types of modelling and art. it is used in making masks,chalks and more craft projects.
Plaster of paris is best for the use of moulds and most good choice for
relief-carving projects.however,one of its most useful functions is for
making statues.
It is easy to work and hard when dried and it works like cement. we
can make plaser of paris very easily at home.
Plaser of Paris is avaiable in powder form in which water can be mixed
in a speciic quantity to make a thick gooey liquid. Mix some colour if
requied. Press/Insert a few things into the gooey liquid and give it a
desired shape .
You can gift your artwork to anybody on asuitable occasion.It can be displayed in a showcase or can be utilized as a stylish _a-er weight.
You can paint it, if you want a coloured sculpture.
How to prepare Plaster of paris To Prepare the plaster fill a cntainer or small plstic bucket in the ratio of one part (water) into the two part (plaster of paris) Now mix the plaster of paris into water with your fingers properly.This might take .a little time.Stir the mixture properly and pick out any lumps that may be formed as soon as the plaster is mixed to smmoth creamy consistancy tap the bottom of the container on the flat surface to release any trapped air.The plaster is ready to be used. If you want to make a block or a slab pour it into a desired sized carton box.The plaster will harden in just a few minutes..when the block is dry.peel the carton box and the slab is ready..
To Paint ,paint with acrylic paint or poster paint.Dont mix more water or it may weaken the Plaster of paris. Solid colours are easy to paint and can provide very mordern glimps to our artwork. Use clear acrylic sealer on artwork which will protect the artwork from moisture and give a glossy look after it is painted and dried.
